The Home Depot Foundation is accepting applications for its Community Impact Grants Program from nonprofit organizations, public schools, and public service agencies that use volunteers. The foundation's 2011 funding will prioritize projects that help veterans, seniors, and the disabled stay in their homes comfortably, including home repair, modification, and weatherization projects. Repairs, refurbishments, modifications, and weatherization of low-income and/or transitional housing or community facilities (schools, community centers, senior centers, etc.); and development and/or improvement of parks or green spaces will be funded. Grants of up to $5,000 will be made in the form of Home Depot gift cards.
